Materials: Murano glass canes, M13 firearm belt
Typical to the island of Murano, millefiori is a glass working technique in which multicolored glass canes are fused together, producing glassware with distinctively intricate patterns and designs. Millefiori is also the name used for the well-known glass beads made via this technique, which gives them the appearance of being composed of a ‘thousand flowers’. Unique and beautiful, Millefiori beads were very beloved and sought after around the world throughout history. They were one of the most influential trade beads exchanged during the African slave trade and colonization.
